THE ESSENCE OF BUSINESS IS SERVING, NOT GAINING
For those who don't know me yet, my name is Ria Vorster, the sole proprietor of The Communication Soft Skills Training. Better known as TCC Soft Skills Training which was launched in 1995 for the sole purpose of serving and assisting my clients to build their self-esteem and achieve their objectives, not for financial gain. I compiled my courses from personal experience therefore the standard is of its own quality and highly appreciated by those who attend them. I wish I could share all of the success stories over the years. But these two stand out for me and I want to share them with you. The first was when I facilitated a course on Frontline Etiquette.
When I arrived at the company the woman who opened the security gate was their tea and cleaning lady. Slip Slops on her feet, looking tired and not well-dressed. My heart went out to her and I asked the manager to allow her to join. There was only an empty reception cubicle, no chairs, no table, and no plants in the reception area. To my surprise when I visited the company a month later, there she was! Chairs neatly arranged magazines on the table, and the most beautiful plants. She was now their professional receptionist and welcomed me with pride.
But the highlight was when a lady approached me last week and thanked me for what I had meant to her sister. Although I did not remember her, she greeted me with gratitude, saying, "I am so pleased to run into you! Your kindness has meant so much to my sister". An advanced secretarial course was booked for the staff by her employer. Her sister had difficulty finding work but I invited her to join.
Surprisingly her sister found a secretarial position the day after the course with her attendance certificate evidence. Today, she is a company manager. I couldn't make it clearer that my passion for serving is the main core of TCC.
